February 11, 2012
Start Time: 7:00 pm

Official Website

In sultry, smoky tones, Grammy Award winner Paula Cole croons the ultimate question, “Where have all the cowboys gone?” Think about it. The typical urbanite is probably not at all familiar with the slow swagger and honest manners of the favorite son of the old west. He?s not likely to turn up on the subway and you won?t spot him at that trendy, new wine bar nibbling quiche and chatting with a group of friends. So the question remains: where can one go to find those handsome, rugged, and fearless defenders of the wild frontier and the occasional damsel in distress? Well, friends, the answer is simple and can be summed up in three words: Championship Bull Riding. The CBR.

Created in Carthage, Texas in 2002 by legendary stock owner Terry Williams and businessman Joel Logan, CBR, Inc. was founded on three basic principles: strength, stamina and integrity. The founders were determined to provide aspiring, young
athletes with additional opportunities to earn a living riding bulls. Over the years, the organization has enjoyed tremendous success, rider purses have increased, and the CBR has grown to become the stuff of legend. And the cowboys? Well, they?re household names. This season, the CBR tour will make stops in more than 70 venues throughout the United States, dazzling more than 200,000 fans with their own special brand of explosive, heart pounding family entertainment.

Rapid growth in the early years put CBR, Inc. on the map, and it was this extraordinary momentum that grabbed the attention of rodeo legend and four-time world champion bull rider, Tuff Hedeman. In 2005, Tuff left the PBR to officially join the organization as President and stock holder. Why the switch? Tuff has a love for the sport, but also for the athletes, and he was inspired by the CBR philosophy.

The El Paso Symphony Orchestra Association is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. The mission of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra Association is to assure that superior concert music is made available to entertain and educate the multicultural community of the greater El Paso region.

This mission is accomplished through presentation of special events, educational activities and outreach programs. The EPSOA season is anchored by 12 classical concerts. Special events serve as outreach toward new audiences. EPSOA reaches the younger audience through our annual Young People’s Concerts featuring outstanding young musicians within the El Paso community. Patrons are invited to attend open dress rehearsals and backstage tours are available to teachers, students and other groups. Free tickets are given to low-income students and seniors.

The El Paso Symphony is currently celebrating it 80th season. Established in the 1930′s, it is the oldest performing arts organization in El Paso and the longest continuously running symphony orchestra in the state of Texas. We are a non-profit organization. The El Paso Symphony has received both national and international recognition as a result of its very successful tours of Germany in 1996 and Turkey in 2000, and continues to represent the El Paso region with pride and distinction.

The symphony orchestra is considered the cornerstone of the arts in all communities. Artistic salaries paid to the orchestra are dollars which remain in El Paso. The EPSO contributes greatly to the cultural image and quality of life in El Paso, an important factor in attracting potential business to the city. Comprised of area musicians, the EPSO fulfills an important educational function within the El Paso community with local musicians as instructors in the public and private schools, the University of Texas at El Paso and through private lessons for students. The El Paso Symphony continues to be recognized for its superior artistic quality; bringing accolades to El Paso.

The El Paso Symphony views West Texas, southern New Mexico and northern Mexico as one community and continually strives to enhance the region’s unique multi-cultural heritage through exceptional programming and exciting new talent.

Diablos’ 2012 Game Day Schedule Announced

EL PASO, TX – The Diablos are pleased to announce the dates for their 2012 season at Cohen Stadium starting May 17th and wrapping up on September 3rd. This season’s schedule is slated to be the best yet. The American Association has welcomed in a new rival border town team for the Diablos, the Laredo Lemurs (Texas), and a new partnership with the Canadian American (Can-Am) League, which will bring the Worcester Tornadoes (Massachusetts) to Cohen Stadium for one homestand July 7-10.

Miles Wolff, Commissioner of the American Association and the Can-Am League, announced on Wednesday that the two leagues will play an interlocking schedule for the 2012 season. The Can-Am League will adopt the AA’s 100-game schedule. Five Can-Am teams will make one 10-game road trip to AA cities, and five AA teams will play 10 games each at Can-Am ballparks, for a total of 100 interleague games.

Ball clubs from as far north as Canada and as far south as Texas are venturing to Cohen Stadium. The Tornadoes and the Lemurs aren’t the only new teams coming to El Paso for the first time this summer. The Diablos will host the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (North Dakota) and the Winnipeg Goldeyes (Canada). With a total of 11 different teams facing the Diablos at Cohen Stadium (other teams include the Kansas City T-Bones (Kansas), Grand Prairie AirHogs (Texas), Amarillo Sox (Texas), Lincoln Saltdogs (Nebraska), Sioux City Explorers (Iowa), Wichita Wingnuts (Kansas), and the Sioux Falls Pheasants (South Dakota).

The Diablos schedule boasts 9 Fridays, 9 Saturdays, and 8 Sundays. The Diablos will once again be hosting El Paso’s biggest and most exciting fireworks show for Independence Day with a homestand spanning from July 3 to July 10. Mark your summer holiday calendars since the Diablos will be home for both Memorial Day weekend (May 24-26 & 28-30), and Labor Day weekend to finish the season right (August 31 – September 3).

Discounted Season Ticket, Weekend Ticket, and Flex Pack Ticket Specials are on sale now for the 2012 season. For more information on these or on our upcoming season, please visit diablos.com or call (915)755-2000.
